Author Bio:
Lisa M. Van Wormer spent six years in the Army and writes mostly about her time deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her work has been included in xoJane, Huffington Post, the Veteran’s Artist Program, AMVETS Magazine, Whirlwind Magazine, Baltimore Fishbowl, Welter Literary Journal, and as a part of The Signal, a weekly news radio magazine on the Baltimore NPR station (WYPR). She has an MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts from the University of Baltimore and a Master’s degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding from California State University Dominguez Hills. She is a business owner and leader in her community.
Lisa lives in Pasadena, Maryland, and enjoys spending time with her daughter, Ivy, and husband, Hayden, who is also an Army combat veteran.
